Woodburner is proud to present:

“Dangerous, seductive, edgy, profound and impressively unpredictable” - Expo Music Awards UK

Get ready for “an interstellar ride with the most exquisite psychedelic rock goddess around!” Led by the ferocious yet profound frontwoman Zee Gachette, Z-STAR (“zee-star”) conjure up a heady infectious modern-day mix of Cosmic Rock n Psyche Soul. Expect to rock the funk out with dirty basslines, phat blues beats, raucous riffy rock n roll guitars and Zee’s soul-soaked voice - “a life force that exhilarates!” Wowing audiences around Europe, Russia and Australia with their high octane transcendental live performances, which has even brought rock royalty Jimmy Page & Roger Daltrey to their feet. The energy they transmit is as magical as it is dangerous.

“It’s the visuals, the colours, the shafts of light and feeling all these roots like electrical currents coming down through my legs and down through the ground. It shakes me. That’s what I see. Fine lines of energy that go out and connect to everybody. It’s tribal, a human energy thing.” - Zee Gachette

Z-STAR’s legendary live shows have lit up stages worldwide, and their killer new album ‘16 Tons of Love’ will be released this summer on PledgeMusic. Imagine Janis Joplin meets Jim Morrison and The Black Keys in a Quentin Tarantino directed episode of HBO’s True Blood, and you’re getting close to the sound Z-STAR evoke!

“A force of nature” - Jimmy Page
“Zee (is) the next Jim Morrison and the 21st Century Doors” - Music Worldwide
“Power, range and style” - Evening Standard
“Rolling Stone have proclaimed Z-STAR as having the new sound of Heavy Soul and Rock n Roll, and we can’t help but agree. They’re the band who seemed to skip the emerging status, and jump straight to bigger things” - Forte Magazine

SISKA (Watcha Clan)

From hip-hop to (nu)soul via folk and more, siska's background is as wide as is her hometown of Marseille, France's sunbathed, cosmopolitan and most underrated city. But what strikes you first when listening to her work is her strong and fragile voice, intimate and yet loud: the voice of a fulfilled woman, living in and out this brave new world. Her spectacular slowmo video “unconditional rebel” (with which she reached over 3M views) in 2015, raised a lot of expectations; and we can safely say they've been met with her LP “a woman's tale”. It's the tale of a woman that's being told here. Better known as Sista K, her alias as lead singer of french finest world beat gang Watcha Clan, she's been hitting stages and festivals all around the world for the past few years: Berlin, New York, Oran, Budapest, Tokyo, you name it... While on stage, she displays the kind of energy and charisma that won't let anybody safe, fully devoting herself to her act, physically as well as spiritually.

On the night, Siska will perform a set of her own original material with full live band, plus a soundsystem set featuring reggae afro and jungle flavours.
