THE BURNING GLASS ALBUM LAUNCH

The Burning Glass are a four piece from the UK sharing true stories with their audiences in a unique acoustic landscape created by guitar, double bass, tuned percussion, ukulele and drums. They play with fierce energy, lilting layers of vocals and sparks of lyrical wit.

Edwin Brooks, a songwriter and organic grower and his cousin Kizzy Brooks, a professional orchestral percussionist formed the band in 2013. The Brooks are joined by acclaimed vocalist and double bassist Nina Harries and by Joseph Trudgeon, a rapidly emerging talent in the UK Jazz and swing scene.

The band recently crowdfunded £5000 to make their second full length album, entitled 'Happiness is Egg Shaped". The record enlarges on the themes of family, love and belonging as well as bonus helpings of cookery based ranting and wildlife conservation themed classic rock. This gig will be a chance to hear all the new material from this record for the first time, as well as old favourites from the band's first album 'Things that Happened and Other Stories". This is a chance for anyone who supported the record to collect their shiny rewards, and those who missed out will be able to buy copies of the new album aswell as other merchandise.
