DJ CONRAD OLENDE

Conrad Olende at Meadows in the Mountains.jpg

DJ Conrad Olende is the man in front. Clad in pink sequin hot pants and matching feather scarf, weaving banging all-hours DJ sets with sounds plucked from the most untraceable corners, and having it at the front of only the littlest-known, best-grown live music experiences, Conrad is turning 50! To celebrate, he will not only spin an epic set of his own, but has also invited no less than 5 top-class live acts and a veritable army of other selecters to help him celebrate in style at Dalston's Jago.

RUM BUFFALO

Rum Buffalo fornicate with forgotten songs. They mingle in many genres but feed off the rich antique roots of swing and moody blues infiltrated with hip hop beats and filthy synth lines. It’s a surreal, vaudevillian show with outrageous costume, twisted vocal harmonies, powerful beats and outrageous horn sounds. On the night expect a stripped-off trio show, revealing the core of their beastly natures.

BIG BEN JORGE

Big Ben Jorge is a south London based group playing explosive tropical dance music inspired by 70's Brazilian pop music, particularly that of maestro Jorge Ben. Infectious groove and audacious costume galore!

Having drawn members from bands including Electric Jalaba, Teotima, Cocos Lovers, Haraket and Flying Ibex, this band springs from a love of Brazilian pop music.

With influences ranging from Samba to Northeastern and Baiao Styles, this diverse gathering of musicians found common ground in the toothsome grooves and nimble melodies of the Brazilian chart music of the 70's and 80's.

THEO BARD

THEO_WEB 64.jpg

London-based singer, songwriter and producer Theo Bard has created a unique fusion of personal, emotive songwriting and atmospheric production.

Having honed his craft in ten years as a recording artist and busker, he returned to London in 2014 and was inspired by a new generation of songwriters augmenting their songs with brooding electronic productions, notably James Blake, Bon Iver, and Sylvan Esso. Determined to learn the craft, he began a 4 year self-imposed exile in a basement in Clapton, teaching himself music production, sustaining himself by busking on Broadway Market and running the popular Woodburner live music series.

After a 5 year gestation, he has developed his own unique voice both as producer and songwriter, with eerie synths, spacious drums and versatile vocal effects enhancing the dark, brooding atmosphere around the songs themselves.
