FAITH I BRANKO

Faith i Branko are a passionate, virtuoso UK/Serbian-Roma duo. They released their highly anticipated debut album ‘Gypsy Lover’ on March 25th 2016 - a set of original compositions recorded with top Serbian Roma and UK artists which chronicles their shared struggles since 2009. Branko Ristic, one of the world’s foremost Gypsy Jazz Violinists, has joined with Faith Ristic, a highly charismatic and virtuosic UK Accordionist, to create a style that draws from and redefines each of their musical heritages. Recent performances include Guca Festival; Vienna Roma Fest; Sydney International Festival; Enlighten Canberra; Tasmania; Oxford Two Make; Stephen Fry BBC World Service; Sanctum at Bristol and many Balkan TV appearances. ‘Love knows no bounds’: a phrase as old as time and never truer than in the love story of this romance’s two protagonists,Faith and Branko. Their album 'Gypsy Lover' has already been voted among the top 10 World Music Albums by radio stations including Mundofonias and Spin the Record.

The duo forms the core of their high energy live act: they combine accordion, whistles, vocals, acoustic violin, electric violin, keyboard and effects pedals to take the audience on a journey from melancholy Roma violin laments to playful Reggae songs and frantic Kolo/Irish dances. Gypsy Jazz, Balkan, Classical, Swing and Improvisation form the core of their entirely original set - which they perform both as a duo and in collaboration. They source musicians from all over the world to play as a trio, quartet and as a highly energetic Romani/UK Orchestra: their current line-up includes double bassist Matt Webb and guitarist Ramiro Nocelli.

KATE AND RAPHAEL

Kate Young and Raphaël Decoster blend original and folk-influenced music as Raphael's accordion dialogues with the Scottish fiddle and the intimate spontaneity of Kate's voice. Kate and Raphael's shared interest in both visual arts and traditional music allow them to create melodies and songs that are fresh and poetic.

Kate is also known for her work with Songs of Separation (nominated in two BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards categories including 'Album of the Year'), as well as Eliza Carthy MBE in - Carthy, Oates, Farrell & Young, and her own band, Kate in the Kettle.

Raphaëlis from Lille in the North of France and plays with French Bal-folk band, Zlabya and duo Peut-être Jeanne.

The duo will release their first album, les objets trouvés in June accompanying their UK tour.

HAZEY JANE

Dalston based, harmony driven and easily confused, the band are inspired by Nick Drake, CSNY and John Prine. From such artists, Hazey Jane have derived their own compositions, which were beautifully captured on their recent EP, 'Us on a Wire'. Recorded at Urchin Studios, Dalston, and produced by band confidants Mr Sander Van Laere (Michael Kiwanuka) and the right honourable Marcel Van Limbeek (Tori Amos).
