Orchard are the newest eight-piece neo-soul group to emerge from the London jazz scene. Having met at Guildhall School of Music and Drama, they have been shaped by their shared love of the jazz tradition, and yet bring their most valuable contributions to the music through individual influences and unique musical backgrounds. Celebrating the interaction between individuality and collective experience is what Orchard’s music is all about - like rows of trees in the orchard, each individual voice grows in conversation with the whole.
Heavily influenced by artists such as Roy Hargrove, Robert Glasper and Kokoroko, Orchard’s music synthesises meaningful songwriting with heavy grooves, warm horn lines, and blistering improvisation. Having met on the Artist Masters course, Orchard’s sound is fully grown - they released their debut EP 'Where We're Calling From' in April 2025, gaining traction on Spotify's Jazz UK playlist, Soweto Kinch's 'Round Midnight, and with YolanDa Brown on Jazz FM.
With performances at EFG London Jazz Festival, Pizza Express Soho, and Love Supreme Jazz Festival behind them, the band will be touring their second EP in 2026.
ROB DE BOER
Rob de Boer is an Irish-Dutch singer, multi-instrumentalist, producer, and visual artist living in London
Known for his signature audio-visual style, smooth vocals, and evocative lyricism. His music draws on songwriting legends such as Bill Withers as well as contemporary voices in the alternative jazz space, including Puma Blue, Oscar Jerome, and Michael Kiwanuka.
Rob learned to play drums as a child while living in Egypt, shaping a global rhythmic sensibility that still defines his work. His sound fuses global groove influences with the complexity of jazz, blues, and soul.
In 2025 he released his debut album Man to You via London label Bridge the Gap - a terracotta-hued, soul-leaning record exploring identity, manhood, and relationships.
The record has garnered support from NTS, SOHO Radio, NPO Soul & Jazz, Wonderland, Line of Best Fit, RTÉ, and Jazz FM, and was awarded 5 stars in The Irish Times, where it was also named among top 5 Irish albums of the year.
Rob is a multi-disciplinary artist also working with film and photography. He created striking visuals for the album, including a Bob Fosse-inspired jazz-dance music video for Our Own Way, earning him an Emerging Director’s Award and a shortlist at the Young Director Awards in Cannes.
Following sold-out album launch shows and a busy run of gigs this winter, Rob continues to tour the record while working on new music.
He has performed at major Irish festivals including All Together Now, Electric Picnic, Forbidden Fruit, and Another Love Story, and also produces and performs as a drummer with fellow Dublin band, Papa Romeo.
