Vogue refers to her as “One of the most adored poets of our time.” Sophia Thakur is an award winning, generational, genre bending talent. Her spellbinding performance weaves poetry and music into a shape that has not been seen before. Masterfully blending jazz, rhythm and poetry, Sophia captivates her audiences into pindrop silence and carries them on an intricately crafted, musical journey through their own hearts and feelings.

Although she has only just begun releasing her music, for the last decade Sophia Thakur has grown a cult following from her magical live performance experiences, selling out her headline shows at The Jazz Cafe, Bush Hall, Omeara, and The Lower Third, whilst performing on world-renowned stages including Glastonbury, Abbey Road Studios, The Royal Albert Hall, The Rockefeller Center, TEDx (twice) and Sky Arts TV.Acclaimed by the BBC as “The Poet of this Generation”, Sophia has cemented herself as a generational storyteller and voice of the heart. While My City marks the beginning of her solo music journey, her art has already been sought after and performed on tracks with artists such as Jacob Banks, Nao, Tiana Major9, and Limoblaze.

Latir is a London born and bred multi-disciplinary alternative RnB artist with an avant-garde style, fusing together his love for alternative RnB, classic jazz, hip hop, poetry and all things dreamy sounding and atmospheric. This can be easily heard & felt through his timelessly uplifting melodies, his affinity toward all things nostalgic, and his generously thought out story-telling.

Latir is deeply inspired by live music and thrives in spaces where he is able to perform his stories, having also worked in and live music for the past many years. Along with a lifelong background in singing/songwriting, he has also produced a lot of his own music as well as both recording and playing his preferred instrument bass, in all/most of his music and collaborations... Performing in over 55 shows in 2024/25 so far, worldwide.

His previous writing has landed him on songs with the likes of Tokio Myers, Krept & Konan and more. whilst also being played on Love Island, Calvin Klein, Soho House and many more.

Latir has managed to sell out his first two headline shows (170+), his most recent being at The Lower Third, with support from the incredible Honey Mooncie and Sophia Thakur.

Sonically, he is inspired by the likes of Nick Hakim, Puma Blue, King Krule, Daniel Caesar, Mk.gee, Chezile, Joji, Chet Baker, Quincy Jones and more…

Latir has released released two EP’s, his most recent being “TEARS ON MY LEATHER” (2025) and “Daydreams & Desires” (2023), which have since been published/covered by COLORSxBERLIN, Billboard, CLASH & a handful of Spotify and Apple Music Editorial playlists, including, Alt RnB, Vanguard, New Music Friday (multiple times), Lowlight and New Jams, earning over 2 million streams so far since Summer 2023, and over 50 million streams including features and vocal appearances. Latir also released four singles across Summer/Autumn 2025 and received multiple plays on BBC Introducing - including a more recent ‘track of the week’ addition on BBC Introducing London in November 2025, this being his first time on the platform as an independent artist.

In his own words,

“I really want to make music that affects people, inspired by their moments... whether that be in love, in sadness or other things... my aim is to transcend people now and forever, to relate, and to be the sonic backdrop to all their feelings... in the most nostalgic, melancholic, chill way ever.”
