Madeleine + Sunny Reyne

  • Dalston Eastern Curve Garden 13 Dalston Lane London, England, E8 3DF United Kingdom (map)

The highly skilled keyboardist, singer and songwriter brings her moody, atmospheric take on nu-jazz to the Curve Garden.

MADELEINE

An emerging player in the nu-jazz and UK soul scene, MADELEINE is a singer, songwriter and producer taking influence from the progressive electronics of Flying Lotus and Kiefer, whilst showcasing the tuneful sensibilities of songwriters Lianne La Havas and Stevie Wonder.

With support from Jazz FM, BBC Introducing and WordPlay, she's also a celebrated session musician, touring the world as keyboardist for the likes of Arlo Parks, Poppy Ajudha and Kwaku Asante. The influences of her travels can be heard across her debut EP ‘Colour Me’, providing snapshots of the sonics of late night drives across the USA set against naturalistic imagery and soulful, jazz-tinged songwriting.

Having grown up in a musical family, MADELEINE’s influences are rooted in jazz, soul, and fusion genres. Training classically on piano and violin from the age of 7, she started her musical journey consuming an eclectic range of genres. Watching her mother performing as a jazz pianist from an early age encouraged her to pursue a career as an instrumentalist, as well as a vocalist.

After studying at The BRIT School, MADELEINE went on to explore popular music at Goldsmiths University of London, where she began to explore a deeper songwriting narrative. Making a name for herself in the London Nu-Jazz Scene as a keys player, she began to expand her sound as a producer, and released her acclaimed debut EP ‘Colour Me’ in 2021. Since then she has toured worldwide with Arlo Parks.

Madeleine is set to re-emerge with her second project ‘Sun Daughter’, after the release of her well received debut EP ‘Colour Me’. The upcoming 7-track EP explores darker, more synth-heavy productions that hint at electronic, moody future soul.
