New wave dancefloor instrumentalists Snazzback bring a renewed, daring energy to UK dance music. The 7-piece embrace their Bristol beginnings to create a sound fusing abstract beats with spiralling improvisation, that doesn’t shy away from chaos. Their music is soaked in influences including interlocking West African rhythms, rootsy Brazilian flavours, sprawling soundscapes, deep dubstep basslines and flickering arpeggiators. A collaborative instinct runs through the group, and an eclectic choice of vocalists and MCs keeps their compositions shimmering in unexpected ways.
Snazzback’s electrifying chemistry has wowed audiences at Ronnie Scott’s, festivals such as Glastonbury, Boomtown & Shambala and gained support from BBC radio heavyweights including Gilles Peterson, Jamz Supernova and Jamie Cullum.
Snazzback have spent autumn putting together their anticipated third release ‘Ruins Everything’ which releases in Spring 2023.
ZAMI YAZEED
Zami Yazeed is a multi-talented artist and musician from the Maldives. Yazeed blends soul, blues, and jazz into her eclectic, nurtured sound and bold, powerful voice. Zami Yazeed brings the mellow, the upbeat and beyond to each performance, paying homage to cultural hallmarks while weaving lived experiences, vulnerability, and nostalgic tales like the well travelled storyteller.
HYDREAMIA
Nothing breeds creativity like captivity. 2020's silver lining saw the formation of the Alternative R&B quintet Hydreamia. Fronted by established North London songwriter Yazmyn Hendrix, they are fresh onto the scene - crafting resonant, hybrid, classic sounds from their pleasantly cluttered studio in Finsbury Park.
Their songs maintain a deep appreciation of feeling and harmony, born from the nostalgia of classic record collections combined with the love of discovery that surfaced with the rise of the 'Soundcloud' generation. Hydreamia encompass Jazz, Soul and alternative tones to explore themes of escapism, romance and melancholia through eclectic musicianship, driving grooves and addictive melodies.
